Q. I'm a freshman this year and am interested in applying to The Center. Are there requirements during 9th grade?
Class of 2024 students need to take the PSAT exam. This year it will be offered in January instead of October.
We would like students to be enrolled in at least 2 honors or 1 honors and 1 AP course in 9th grade. Students not in this number of honors/AP classes may still apply. Students must maintain a 3.6 GPA at each semester.
Applications open in February. There will be a meeting for parents and students to introduce the application process and to give an overview of our program.

Q. I would like to donate money to help support students in The Center, how can I do that?
First, thank you for offering! We want to provide our students with so many opportunities, but are finding that the added expense is a tremendous challenge. Here's how you can help:
Donations can be made payable to The Center Parent Network and dropped off in the front office or sent to school with a student and delivered to their Center teacher. For more information, please see our Donation information here
For tax purposes, our TAX ID number is: 95-6153775

Q. I am not sure how this will work with my schedule. Can you review what I want to take and offer ideas and options?
After you have applied and have been admitted, we will review your course requests with you during class programming in the spring.

Q. I haven't figured out my passion. Does this mean that I shouldn't apply?
Not at all. Part of the AP Seminar course is exploring multiple topics from multiple perspectives. Inspiration and passion can come where and when you least expect it. The question you should be asking yourself is, "Do I have the desire to explore and learn?"

Q. How much homework will be required in AP Seminar?
Most of the homework will be a continuation of research and reading begun in class. As we begin the writing process, you will be required to work on the stages of the paper as outlined in the writing syllabus, which you will receive once we begin crafting the paper.
