Families and Friends:
Each year we host a Fall Kickoff Event to bring all grade levels together for food, fun and team building. We've played archery tag, gone bowling, been on a scavenger hunt around campus and eaten more than our share of tacos, pizza, ice cream and Italian Ice. This year, was a bit different but just as fun thanks to Alex and the team at Nodus 805 Escape Rooms.
For seniors, Center teachers and our on-site College Counselor-in-Training (UC Berkeley certified in December) have been hosting a weekly College Application Workshop and will continue to work to provide a meaningful and rewarding senior year. If you have a senior, please encourage them to sign up via email any day of the week for a personalized lunch meetings to review essays or discuss applications.
The Center Parent Board and Center teachers are excited to plan and implement an eventful year which includes the annual Festival of Scholars, Senior Banquet and Performance Task Presentations.
The CoRE innovation lab is currently equipped with a Promethean table for design, drawing and collaboration, a 3D printer, VR Headset and the audio/visual equipment for students to collaborate with mentors both locally and abroad. But, we know there's more to be done. Currently, your donation will help fund our most immediate needs: Relocating our video equipment to better capture student presentations, installing microphones, purchasing high-capacity computers and low-tech tools (tools and equipment needed to create and model designs).
We know you are asked to give by so many of your student's organizations, but hope you would consider helping us help your child follow their academic pursuits. As always, thank you for supporting our #CenterScholars as they find their amazing.
